Adding services to an order

Inspection, analysis and other services you can request alongside a product.

Alongside the product itself, sellers can offer services on an order, such as independent inspection or laboratory analysis of the batch you are buying.

Adding a service

Available services appear when you send a request from a listing. Tick the ones you want and they are added as separate lines on the order, priced separately from the product.

Services shown as "To be quoted"

Some services cannot be priced in advance, because the cost depends on the volume, the destination or the laboratory. These appear on your order as "To be quoted" rather than as zero.

A line marked this way blocks payment until the seller has quoted it. That is deliberate, and it works in your favour: it means you never pay for an order and then discover what the outstanding line costs. When the quote arrives you can accept it or negotiate, and only then does the order become payable.

Currency

A service quoted in a different currency to the product is handled the same way, as a line to be quoted, so that the order total is always in one currency.
